Changes and Claims Engineer

PGH Wong Engineering, Inc. has a proud and lengthy history of delivering innovative, challenging, and complex projects. PGH Wong was established in 1985 on its extraordinary foundation in systems engineering and is now a full-service engineering, architecture, construction management, and program/project management consulting firm for public and private entities across the nation.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist with coordination of change management documents with the Contractor
  • Review contract documents (plans, project/technical specifications, engineering reports) and validate merit of contract changes
  • Review, organize and respond to relevant correspondence which documents construction issues
  • Review time and materials/force account work in coordination with field inspection staff
  • Assist in preparation of merit documents, negotiation strategies, negotiation summaries, and Contract Change Order documentation
  • Work with Agency Contract Administration and Project Management staff
  • Assist in cost proposal and time impact schedule analyses
  • Coordinate response time frames for change management and task order documents
  • Coordinate the deliverables for assigned tasks with Contractor and team members
  • Coordinate and draft responses for review prior to signature
  • Coordinate scoping/quantity/negotiation meeting agendas, take meeting minutes, prepare exhibits, and assist in preparing presentations
  • Interface with team members in preparation of change orders for work outside of contract requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to analyze costs and schedule differences and impacts
  • Ability to work with online collaboration tools such as Oracle’s Construction Management Software and Sharepoint
  • Proficient in MS Office products and use of a spreadsheet (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project)
  • Highly motivated and willing to work with staff from various professional backgrounds
  • Able to grasp complex issues
  • Flexibility in job assignments and responsibilities
  • Strong writing, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • team environment, with a significant client interface
