Job DescriptionPosted at 2019-04-19 07:00:00Full time246969The Team: We are seeking a Data Engineer with experience in designing and building data pipelines/ETL systems to join one of our Agile Scrum teams. This team will be focused around building out data pipeline/ETL framework and maintenance for a new product platform at a Fortune 500 company that looks to monetize its data assets through high growth revenue avenues.The Impact: We are in search of a highly motivated and skilled Software Engineer who is ready to take their career to the next level in a fast growing company. Work with and guide our Product Owners, Software Architects, and others to implement technical specifications using industry standard, best-in-class coding practices. Promote a team culture and environmentResponsibilities: Development, testing, and release of assigned project deliverables for software development projects that support key business needs.Develop code that satisfy end-to-end specifications, conform to architectural governance standards and result in building high-quality, high performance, scalable software.Working with SQL Server and related technologies to allow the creation of and the support of data migrations and transformationsExperience implementing data warehouse solutions and setting up ETL processes for datasets,Create and maintain appropriate documentation for databases, production support and end-users.Works with team to determine system environment, verify accessibility and develops technical specifications.Maintain Data Models/Dimensional Modeling. Creates and validates data mapping.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering.7 9 years of significant experience in designing efficient and robust ETL workflows.Experience working in cloud computing environments such as AWS, Azure or GCPKnowledge of writing complex and efficient SQL for relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server is essential. Experience with NoSQL database systems.Experience with large scale messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ or commercial systems.Experience with an Object Oriented Programming languages like C#, Java, Scala or PythonExperience with Big Data platforms such as Apache Hadoop and Apache Spark.Proficient with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies like Agile, Test-oriented development.Knowledge of system architecture, object-oriented design, and design patterns that scale and are performant.Understanding of product versioning, packaging and deployment.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with cassandra, dynamo db, or postgresExperience with AWS Glue or other AWS ETL offeringsExperience mentoring and leading a team of software developersAbout S&P GlobalAt S&P Global, we don t give you intelligence we give you essential intelligence.
