Mechanical Engineer (EIT)

 Mechanical Engineer (EIT)

Gain valuable experience to further your engineering career

Chetwynd, BC

If you're a recent mechanical engineering graduate looking for the chance to grow your expertise with an industry leader, this may be the role for you. In this full-time, entry-level position, you will apply your technical know-how and troubleshooting skills to support turnaround planning and execution at our natural gas processing plants in Northern BC.

Working on a 1-year rotation cycle between our Pine River Gas Plant in Chetwynd, our Fort Nelson Gas Plant and our McMahon Gas Plant in Fort St. John, you’ll work alongside senior multi-disciplinary engineering teams to inspect equipment and develop scope for found work.

As a Mechanical Engineer-in-Training, you will also:

  • prepare repair scope for turnaround work based on integrity data, engineering backlog, operations and planning input
  • inspect equipment
  • prepare engineering packages for found work
  • look for opportunities to reduce turnaround work scope by scheduling work outside of the turnaround whenever possible
  • update equipment files with work completed following turnaround
  • provide engineering support to daily operations, as required.

Bring your mechanical engineering degree, a valid BC driver’s licence and your great communication skills. Engineering co-op experience in the oil & gas, pulp and paper or chemical processing industries, along with strong mechanical aptitude, computer proficiency and solid problem-solving skills would further support your application.
