The Sr. Engineer 1,Electrical is responsible for applying advanced electrical engineeringknowledge to support NPD, sustaining and productivity designs that have aboveaverage complexity. This role will be heavily involved in platform technologydevelopment for new product development projects. This role has the technicalability to combine existing and new technology to build product platforms. Additionally, this role will be responsiblefor maintaining engineering quality by mentoring other engineers, peer reviewingdesigns and as needed formal design review.
Research technology andprototype new technology that support the lines of business product portfolio.
Define and generatedocumentation for hardware architecture in new product development platforms.
Mentor other designengineers, interns and apprentices by reviewing work product and givingtechnical feedback.
Maintain engineeringtechnical quality by reviewing designs and participating as needed formaldesign reviews.
Create SFMEA, DFMEA and 8Dusing companies quality tools.
Lead failure analysis andproblem solving tactics by using six sigma design practices.
Analyze and simulate analogand digital electrical circuits by using Multisim.
Analyze and simulate RFcircuits and structures by using Genesys and Momentum.
Design electrical circuitsand PCBs by using Altium Designer.
Test and troubleshootelectrical circuits by using common test equipment such as power supplies,signal generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and network analyzers.
Build prototype electricalcircuits by using basic soldering skills and basic project management skills.
Write technical documentationlike specifications and test reports to support project deliverables.
Conduct peer review forproduct design by acting as the technical reviewer on ECNs.
Provide work estimates anddevelop NPD project schedules by utilizing Microsoft project.
Maintain professional andtechnical knowledge by attending educational workshops, professionalpublications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professionalsocieties.
Contribute to the team effortby accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed.
Bachelor’s degree inelectrical engineering
Minimum of 10 years ofexperience
Six Sigma Green Beltcertification
Ability to travel up to 25%of time; international travel required
Master’s degree in electricalengineering
Experience with electricalcomponents, switch mode power supplies, power management circuits, motorcontrol circuits, analog circuits, positioning systems, PCB design, displaytechnology and RF impedance matching.
Experience with wirelesscommunication standards like WiFi or Bluetooth.
Experience with productsafety standards for products like UL325 and IEC60335.
Experience with EMCregulatory standards for products like FCC, ETSI and ANZ4268
Six Sigma Black Beltcertification
Ability to lead a team ofengineers to create electro-mechanical products
