DataStax delivers the always-on, Active Everywhere distributed hybrid cloud database built on Apache Cassandra . We are seeking a talented Technical Support Engineer (Student Placement) to join our team.

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, professional and friendly student looking for a 12 month placement as part of their sandwich degree course. You will play a central role as part of our European Support team and will gain valuable hands on experience with cutting edge software and a great understanding of the Big Data software industry. As a Technical Support Engineer, you will utilize your passion for helping others succeed. You will also expand your knowledge of troubleshooting, configuration, and exciting new technologies such as Apache Cassandra and DataStax Enterprise.

Essential Job Functions

Research, reproduce, troubleshoot, and solve customer s technical issues.
Provide thoughtful direction and support for technical inquiries.
Ensure that customer issues are resolved as expediently as possible.
Reproduce customer issues and log JIRA tickets.
Document and share knowledge with our Global teams.
Work on projects as required.
Job Requirements


Studying towards a BA in a computing related discipline.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with Linux navigation and tools


A good understanding of Java, Python, or another programming language
An exposure to Database technologies
This opportunity will be in our DataStax Windsor
The role is a 12 month student placement opportunity
